Framed Print of Brasilien - Land und Leute
Die auf diesem Bilde eingezeichneten europäischen Staaten geben einen Begriff von der gewaltigen Größe Brasiliens. Seine Ausdehnung von Norden bis Süden gleicht der Entfernung vom Nordkap bis Gibraltar. Unter dem -quator gelegen, ist der Norden Brasiliens das größte Flußgebiet der Welt. Dort befindet sich das Stromnetz des Amazonasflusses. Derselbe ist in seinem Unterlauf 70 - 100 Meter tief, etwa 12 mal breiter als der Rhein und etwa 5 mal so lang. In jener Gegend befindet sich auch noch das größte Urwaldgebiet der Welt. Zentral-Brasilien ist eine bis zu 100 Meter über dem Meere gelegene Hochebene. Im südlichen Brasilien mit einem subtropischen Klima wie etwa Nordafrika, liegen die Kolonien der deutschen Auswanderer. Die Wintermonate sind in Brasilien Juni bis August, Sommermonate Dezember bis Februar. Die Fruchtbarkeit des Landes ist außerordentlich groß. Weite Gebiete des Innern sind noch unerforscht.
