Anthias, also known as butterflyfish or purple anthias fish, are a mesmerizing sight in the underwater world. With their vibrant colors and graceful movements, they add a pop of life to any coral reef. One such species is the lyretail anthias, which can often be seen swimming among soft corals. Their delicate fins and striking hues create a stunning contrast against the backdrop of these colorful marine plants. In the Philippines' Pacific Ocean, a breathtaking scene unfolds beneath the surface. A coral reef teeming with threadfin anthias forms a shoal alongside bluegreen chromis. The shallow sea allows for a split-level composite shot that captures both the beauty of these fish and the enchanting coconut tree forest in the background. Moving on to Shark Reef in Ras Mohammed, Egypt, we encounter another spectacle - scalefin anthias gracefully navigating vertical reef walls. These magnificent creatures bring an added burst of color to this already vibrant underwater landscape. Venturing further into the Red Sea reveals yet another captivating sight - female scalefin anthias swimming amidst an array of orange-hued coral formations. This thriving ecosystem showcases nature's ability to create harmonious compositions that leave us in awe. Traveling eastward to Papua New Guinea's Eastern Fields brings us face-to-face with a healthy coral reef landscape at Carl's Ultimate dive site. Here, various species coexist peacefully, including female scalefin anthias gliding effortlessly through crystal-clear waters. A portrait captures the essence of male squarespot anthias off Sangeang Island; their intricate patterns and vivid shades make them true works of art within nature's gallery. Meanwhile, male scalefin anthias roam freely in open water near Ras Katy in Indonesia's Papua region – showcasing their resilience and adaptability even outside their usual habitat. Lastly, Fak Fak's Triton Bay presents us with schooling fusiliers and anthias swimming together like synchronized dancers through pristine waters.
