Alongside his fearless partner Edda Oates, they formed an unstoppable duo that left their mark on the motorsport world. In 1974, Artie and Edda took to the track on their iconic BSA 750 TT sidecar, showcasing their exceptional skills and unwavering determination. The crowd was captivated by their seamless teamwork as they maneuvered through every twist and turn. The following year saw them conquer Jurby Road with another triumph aboard their trusty BSA. Their unmatched synergy and passion for speed propelled them to new heights in the racing scene. But it was in 1976 when Artie and Edda truly etched themselves into history books during the intense 500 Sidecar TT race. Leading alongside Keith Griffin & Malcolm Sharrocks, they showcased unparalleled skill, leaving spectators breathless. Their partnership extended beyond brands as they fearlessly tackled different motorcycles throughout the years. Inglewood Kawasaki became their vehicle of choice in 1978 and again in 1979 for the Sidecar TT races - proving that adaptability was key to staying at the top of their game. Artie's love affair with Yamaha began in 1984 when he teamed up with Edda once more for yet another unforgettable performance at the Sidecar TT event. Their Yamaha-powered machine roared across the finish line amidst thunderous applause from fans who recognized true greatness. Rewinding back to earlier years, we find ourselves transported to a time where Artie piloted a remarkable L&M Spl bike during Southern 100 in 1969 – setting hearts ablaze with his audacious style and unyielding spirit.
