Bill Boddice, a legendary figure in the world of sidecar racing, left an indelible mark on the sport with his remarkable talent and unwavering determination. Throughout his career, he formed formidable partnerships with esteemed riders such as Walter Schneider, Hans Strauss, Wally Storr, and Bill Canning. In the 1952 Silverstone race, Boddice joined forces with Ted Davis to showcase their skills aboard a Norton motorcycle. Their electrifying performance captivated spectators and solidified Boddice's reputation as a force to be reckoned with. The following years saw Boddice's name etched in history alongside various partners. In the 1954 Sidecar TT race, Cyril Smith and Stan Dibben piloted a Norton machine under Boddice's guidance. Together they pushed boundaries and set new standards for excellence. Boddice continued to dominate the sidecar racing scene throughout the mid-1950s. His partnership with Wally Storr proved unstoppable as they clinched victory after victory in races like the 1955 Sidecar TT and 1956 Sidecar TT aboard their trusty Norton machines. However, it was during the iconic 1957 Sidecar TT that Boddice truly showcased his prowess alongside Bill Canning on another Norton bike. The duo displayed unparalleled skill and teamwork that propelled them to triumph amidst fierce competition. Beyond his accomplishments on track, Boddice was also known for fostering camaraderie within what became known as "The Boddice Clan. " This close-knit group of racers shared not only a passion for speed but also an unbreakable bond forged through countless hours spent perfecting their craft together. Even after retiring from professional racing, Boddice remained connected to his beloved sport. In 1965 at Parliament Square during the Sidecar TT event riding a powerful combination of a Watsonian sidecar attached to a reliable BSA motorcycle, Boddice proved that his passion for racing was unwavering.
