"Black Lives Matter: A Pivotal Movement for Equality and Justice" In the midst of isolation, a powerful movement emerged in Perth - the BLM Rally. People from all walks of life gathered to raise their voices against racial injustice, echoing the sentiments that have resonated throughout history. Looking back at an old photograph from 1937-1938, we see members of Kappa Alpha Psi standing united, reminding us that this fight is not new. The Pan African flag proudly waved during the Million Man March 20th Anniversary in 2015 serves as a symbol of solidarity and resilience. Caroline Holifield's image being treated after being pepper sprayed during a Black Lives Matter protest reminds us of the sacrifices made by individuals who refuse to be silenced. Just like Moses rescued from the Nile centuries ago, black lives continue to rise above adversity. Reflecting on John Simpson's artwork "The Captive Slave" from 1827, we are reminded of how far we've come but also how much further there is to go. The photographs capturing women in Tulsa during the 1920s remind us that black excellence has always thrived despite systemic barriers. One particular photo shows people standing together on a street in Tulsa around 1920 - an image that speaks volumes about unity and community strength, and is through these pivotal changes and collective efforts that progress towards equality can be achieved. As we navigate through turbulent times, let us remember those who came before us and honor their legacy by continuing to fight for justice. Black Lives Matter stands as a reminder that every life deserves equal respect and protection – it is our duty to ensure this truth prevails now more than ever.
