Calvin Coolidge: A Man of Hymns and History Step into the world of Calvin Coolidge, a man whose legacy still echoes through the annals of American history. Born in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, this New England native would rise to become the 30th President of the United States. In his humble beginnings, young Calvin could be found immersed in hymn practice at his local church in Plymouth Notch. This small town would later become home to the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site, preserving his heritage for future generations. As he ascended to power, Coolidge's influence stretched far beyond his beloved Vermont. Captured in black and white photographs are moments that define his presidency - from attending Thanksgiving Day service with First Lady Grace Coolidge to laying wreaths on the Tomb of Unknown Soldier alongside Dwight Davis and Curtis D. Wilbur. The White House became a backdrop for many significant events during Coolidge's tenure. In one snapshot frozen in time, we see him standing outside its grandeur with Grace by his side. Another image captures their arrival in Washington DC as they exit an automobile - a glimpse into their lives as public figures. Coolidge's impact extended even further than politics; it reached our currency itself. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing created frame plate proofs featuring his face on $5 bills - a testament to his lasting imprint on American society. But behind every great leader is a loving family who supports them unconditionally. An artist captured an intimate moment between Calvin and those closest to him - father, wife, and sons gathered together as they navigate the complexities of political life. From Havana to Pan American conferences abroad or within America's borders, Coolidge left no stone unturned when it came to representing his nation proudly on foreign soil, more than just another president; he embodied resilience and dedication throughout every chapter of his life story.
