"Canvassing: A Timeless Tradition of Presidential Campaigns" From the iconic posters supporting Franklin D. Roosevelt's re-election in 1940 and 1944 to Ronald Reagan's official campaign poster for the 1980 presidential election, it has been an integral part of American politics, and is a practice that dates back even further, as seen in the Socialist Party candidates Eugene V.
