"Cleveland Park Stadium: A Journey Through Time" Step back in time to the 12th of June, 1989, where the vibrant energy in Middlesbrough was at its peak. The stadium buzzed with excitement as spectators gathered to witness thrilling greyhound racing and cheer on their favorite contenders. On that memorable day, Greyhound "Movealong Sam" triumphantly stood atop the rostrum, basking in his well-deserved victory. Fast forward to the 5th of April, 1994 - a night dedicated to speedway racing at Cleveland Park Stadium. Home to the Boro Bears Speedway team, this iconic venue became a hub for adrenaline-fueled races and passionate fans who reveled in every twist and turn on the track. But it wasn't just about sports; it also hosted heartwarming events like the Cleveland Park Christmas Cup. In one snapshot from this festive occasion, Howard Piller and Kevin Wright proudly posed together while celebrating their achievements. Behind-the-scenes glimpses revealed trainers Ken Nelson and Pam Goldsbrough diligently caring for their beloved greyhounds. Angela Duncan experienced an affectionate lick from one of these graceful creatures as she groomed them with love and dedication. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. On the 8th of May, 1997, Cleveland Park Stadium faced its final chapter as demolition loomed over its historic grounds. Memories were etched into every brick and blade of grass as Middlesbrough bid farewell to this cherished landmark that had witnessed countless moments of joy throughout its existence. Cleveland Park Stadium may no longer stand tall today but remains eternally engraved in our hearts—a testament to a bygone era filled with sporting prowess, camaraderie among competitors like Mr R. L Woodworth - winning owner of "White Bubbles, " Amanda Davies alongside Denise Muiraney exercising greyhounds, and the doggy equivalent of fillet of steak-horsemeat.
