Culdrose, a naval air station located in Cornwall, England, has been home to a wide array of aircraft throughout its history. From the Scottish Aviation Jetstream T. 2 XX486 - 569 to the Westland Wessex HAS. 1 XP157, this base has seen it all. In 1997, during the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford, Culdrose showcased its capabilities with the DTEO-operated Scottish Aviation Jetstream T. 2 XX475 (msn 206 P/N 05). This impressive aircraft was part of the Defence Test and Evaluation Organisation and left spectators in awe. The Royal Navy also played a significant role at Culdrose with their fleet of Scottish Aviation Jetstreams and British Aerospace Jetstreams. One notable example is ZA111 / 65 (msn 211 P/N 10), which served as an integral part of the 750 Naval Air Squadron based at RNAS Culdrose around 1995. During that same period, another British Aerospace Jetstream made waves at Culdrose – ZE440 /78 (msn659). This aircraft belonged to the esteemed squadron and added to the rich aviation history of this remarkable base. Not limited to modern aircraft alone, it also hosted iconic planes like NH Industries NH90 NFH N-325 and de Havilland DH. 104 Sea Devon C. 20 XJ319. These historical gems brought nostalgia and excitement to visitors who attended air shows held on these grounds. One unforgettable moment occurred when a Vulcan bomber graced RNAS Culdrose's air show in Cornwall. The sheer power and presence of this legendary plane captivated audiences young and old alike. With such an illustrious past filled with diverse aircraft ranging from Scottish Aviation Jetsreams to historic Vulcans bombers, it's no wonder that RNAS Culdrose remains an important hub for naval aviation even today.
