Last Summer 19X was a time of exploration and discovery in the world of dried plants. From Last Summer 12 to Last Summer 26, enthusiasts delved into the beauty and intricacy of nature's offerings. One such marvel was the Chocolate and Teal Fern, a wild treasure that captivated with its unique hues. In black and white illustrations, we witnessed the delicate artistry involved in preserving these botanical wonders. A skeletonized leaf revealed its intricate network of veins, showcasing nature's impeccable design. Similarly, a physalis flower underwent four cuts along its veins to open up and dry gracefully. The hands depicted in these illustrations skillfully wired dried globe artichokes using pieces of cane against their stems. This meticulous process ensured that every detail was preserved for admiration. The top of the cane was carefully cut off to perfect this masterpiece. These black and white illustrations not only showcased the technical aspects but also highlighted the raw beauty found within dried plants. They served as a reminder that even after their vibrant colors fade away, they still possess an undeniable charm. Last Summer 19X allowed us to appreciate nature's ability to transform itself while maintaining its allure. Dried plants became more than just remnants; they became symbols of resilience and endurance. As we marveled at each illustration, we were reminded once again of our deep connection with the natural world around us.
