Elmer Sims Campbell was a talented artist whose work spanned various subjects and locations. From his powerful WWII color line poster to his depictions of landscapes and everyday life, Elmer's art captured the essence of different places and moments in time. Born in New Jersey, Elmer found inspiration in his surroundings, including an old Texaco gas station in the town of Elmer. His attention to detail is evident in his painting of the Stinson-Faucett F-19 OB-PAH-140 aircraft, showcasing both his technical skill and love for aviation. Elmer's exploration extended beyond American borders as well. He painted Lake George in Sierra Nevada with such precision that one can almost feel the tranquility emanating from the canvas. Sussex PO22 6 Map reveals another facet of Elmer's talent - cartography. Not limited to paintings alone, it also made contributions to theater productions like "See Naples and Die" at London's Little Theatre, Adelphi. His creativity knew no bounds as he even had a street named after him - Alleyne Way - located in Elmer Sands, West Sussex. The Underwood brothers collaborated with Elmer on several projects across continents. Their joint efforts resulted in stunning artworks depicting scenes from Palm Gardens in Frankfort, Germany; the Fayum Oasis along Bahr Yussef (River Joseph) leading to the Nile; Cuernavaca, Mexico where they gathered luscious fruit from mango trees; and even cows making their way home up a lane at milking-time. One cannot forget Rooster Rock along Oregon's Columbia River when discussing Elmer's body of work. The peculiar rock formation became a subject for him and Bert Elias Underwood to capture its uniqueness through their artistic lenses. Through these diverse pieces by artists like Campbell and Underwood brothers, we catch glimpses into different eras and cultures while appreciating their shared passion for creating captivating visuals.
