The European common frog, scientifically known as Rana temporaria, is a fascinating amphibian found in various locations across Europe. From Scotland to Switzerland and England to Cornwall, these frogs can be spotted in different habitats throughout the continent. In Scotland, UK, a captivating image captures a Common frog froglet with its tail still intact. This young amphibian showcases the early stages of its development before transforming into an adult. Meanwhile, in Lucerne, Switzerland during April, an interesting sight unfolds as both the Common toad (Bufo bufo) and Common frog attempt amplexus. This behavior refers to the mating process where the male grasps onto the female's back for reproduction. Moving on to Coldharbour in Surrey, England, we witness another aspect of their life cycle. A stunning photograph showcases not only a mature Common Frog but also its precious offspring known as frogspawn. These jelly-like clusters contain numerous eggs that will eventually hatch into tadpoles. Similarly in Surrey but during March this time around, another garden pond becomes home to both a Common frog and its accompanying frogspawn. The presence of these creatures adds vibrancy and life to any outdoor space. Venturing near Lac des Gloriettes dam reveals yet another encounter with the European common frog perched on a rock by a waterfall. The picturesque scenery serves as an ideal backdrop for this remarkable creature's habitat. A close-up portrait taken in Cornwall focuses solely on the eye of a Common Frog. The intricate details within their eyes showcase nature's artistry at its finest. An artistic touch is added when capturing another portrait of this species against a vibrant red background - truly highlighting their beauty and uniqueness against contrasting colors. Broxwater in Cornwall presents us with yet another opportunity for observation; here lies our subject once again - posing gracefully amidst lush greenery during June. Warwickshire becomes home to more sightings during March when gardens transform into breeding grounds for Common frogs.
