"Extinguished: A Journey through Time and Artistic Expressions" Step into a world where creativity meets rejection, as the inventions board dismisses innovative ideas. Rejected by the inventions board, these concepts remain extinguished, forever hidden from the light of day. In this captivating lithograph titled "The Right Honourable John Bright, " we witness a man whose brilliance was overshadowed by societal norms. His potential extinguished before it could ignite change. Maple & Co. , renowned for their exquisite lamps in 1893, advertised their creations with an allure that captivated hearts. Yet, even their radiance couldn't prevent the eventual dimming of their popularity. From Kykkos Monastery in Cyprus emerges a mosaic called "Night and Day. " Its intricate details depict celestial transitions between darkness and light—a reminder that all things must eventually be extinguished or illuminated. "The Marriage of Cupid & Psyche, " published in 1797 as a hand-colored engraving, tells a tale of love's triumphs and tribulations. However, like any flame burning too brightly, passion can also be extinguished if not nurtured carefully. Amidst the Crusaders' feuds lies an intense battle scene captured in lithographic form—"Fight between the French and English at Gizor. " In this clash of nations, lives were lost while hope flickered until ultimately being snuffed out. At St James's Hall stands witness to fierce competition within The Amateur Boxing Association—an engraved testament to both glory achieved and dreams dashed when fighters' flames are prematurely extinguished. An intriguing engraving portrays Lel Tshar Ari saying Euri to her—her order causing embers to meet water's cool embrace. As sparks fade away under its touch, so do hopes once ablaze but now vanishing into obscurity. Ernst Barlach's "Standing Figure with Extinguished Torches" invites contemplation.
