Fred Foskett: A Legendary Jazz Photographer Step into the captivating world of jazz through the lens of Fred Foskett, a renowned photographer who captured some of the most iconic moments in music history. Born in London, 1967, Fred inherited his passion for photography from his father Brian Foskett. One of his earliest masterpieces was a snapshot of Buddy Rich during a mesmerizing performance at an intimate venue in London. The photo perfectly encapsulates Rich's unparalleled talent and charisma on stage. Another striking image showcases Paul Chambers, taken in 1960, capturing the essence of his soulful bass playing. In 1968, Fred had the privilege to photograph Joe Morello during one of his electrifying performances in London. The image immortalizes Morello's impeccable drumming skills and dynamic stage presence. Moving forward to 1989 at Royal Albert Hall, Fred skillfully captured Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. , and Liza Minnelli sharing a moment on stage. This rare photograph transports us back to that magical night when three legends united their talents under one roof. Venturing beyond British borders, Fred traveled to Mstricht Jazz Festival in the Netherlands where he snapped B. B. King captivating audiences with his legendary blues guitar skills in 1991. The photo radiates King's raw emotion and undeniable connection with his instrument. Back home again at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London during 1989, Jack DeJohnette takes center stage as Fred captures him lost within the rhythm while showcasing his extraordinary drumming prowess. Amongst other remarkable shots is an unforgettable picture from Miles Davis Quintet's performance circa 1960 - an era that defined jazz history forevermore. Through this image alone we can feel their collective energy pulsating offstage. Fred also ventured across continents to Los Angeles where he photographed Elvin Jones and His Jazz Machine at Jazz Bakery in 1997; it perfectly captures the intensity and passion that Jones poured into his music.
