John Findlay, a legendary figure in the world of motorcycle racing, left an indelible mark on the sport with his incredible skills and unwavering determination. In 1966, during the Senior Manx Grand Prix, John encountered a minor setback as he realized there was not enough steering lock. However, this did not deter him from giving it his all. Oops. The following year, alongside Roger Greenwood (Tri-Manx), John once again took to the track for the Senior Manx Grand Prix. Riding his trusty Norton bike, he showcased exceptional talent that left spectators in awe. Throughout his career, John competed on various motorcycles including Velocette and Yamaha but always seemed to find himself back on a Norton. In 1965 at the Senior Manx Grand Prix aboard a Velocette bike or in 1970 during both Junior TT and Senior TT races astride his beloved Norton machine – he consistently delivered outstanding performances that cemented his status as one of racing's greats. Even after years of competing at such high levels, John remained passionate about motorcycle racing. In 1984 Classic Historic TT event riding a classic Norton or participating in the Classic TT race on a Yamaha bike - he continued to showcase unparalleled skill and dedication. John Findlay's legacy lives on as fans remember him for pushing boundaries and achieving remarkable feats within motorsport history.
