John Hartell: A Sidecar TT Legend For over a decade, John Hartell's name has been synonymous with the adrenaline-fueled world of sidecar racing. From his early days alongside Robert Hartell on their Suzuki in 1977, to his later partnerships with Nick Roche and Christian Hefti, John has left an indelible mark on the sport. In 1979, the dynamic duo of John and Robert Hartell switched gears to Windle Suzuki, showcasing their unwavering determination and skill at the Sidecar TT. The following year saw them conquer new heights as they harnessed the power of a Windle Yamaha. But it was in 1987 that John found another formidable partner in crime - Nick Roche. Together on their CWH Armstrong machine, they blazed through each turn and straightaway at the Sidecar TT, leaving spectators breathless with their speed and precision. Throughout his illustrious career, John continued to push boundaries and defy expectations. In 1990, he joined forces once again with Windle Yamaha and Christian Hefti for yet another unforgettable performance at the Sidecar TT, and is no surprise that some races are etched into history more than once; such is the case for John's remarkable achievements. His collaborations with both Robert Hartell (Suzuki) in 1977 and (Windle Yamaha) in 1980 were so extraordinary that they deserve double mention. And let us not forget Tony Newsholme - a partner who shared John's passion for victory. In 1986, together under Team Windle's banner, they showcased unparalleled teamwork during an unforgettable Sidecar TT race. John Hartell's legacy extends far beyond mere statistics or podium finishes; it lies within every heart-pounding moment he created on those legendary tracks.
