In the southern region of Sweden, a picturesque country road is adorned with vibrant yellow flowers, signaling the arrival of springtime on this date: 23-05-2019. As I stroll along this idyllic path, my mind drifts to various depictions of "lage" throughout history. From the reenactment at Boste lage showcasing a Bronze Age warrior to engravings portraying the first regular battles between Stone Age men at Furfooz's fortified camp, these images transport me back in time. A color lithograph captures the complete physiognomy of a fifteen-year-old cretin while an engraving recreates a retrospective exhibition displaying bronze age workers diligently engaged in their craft. Pascal's engraved portrait reveals him at twenty-five or twenty-six years old, exuding wisdom and experience. Another engraving showcases an Alpine region warrior from the Bronze Age era, highlighting remnants found in that area. The artistry involved in bread-making during the Stone Age is captured beautifully through yet another engraving. A heartwarming depiction emerges as I come across an engraving depicting a family living during prehistoric times - truly reminding us of our humble beginnings. Amidst all these historical reflections, I am brought back to reality by witnessing someone walking their baby along this enchanting road. As if nature itself wants to join in on commemorating ancient eras, an ocean bird gracefully soars above me. Finally, another retrospective exhibition comes into view; it portrays polished stone age workers gathered together for their laborious tasks. "Lage, " though not referring to any specific company here but rather representing different aspects of human existence throughout ages past and present - reminds us that we are part of an ever-evolving tapestry woven by countless generations before us.
