The Lagopus mutus, commonly known as the Ptarmigan, is a fascinating bird species that thrives in snowy landscapes across various regions. From the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland to Svalbard in Norway, these birds can be found showcasing their unique characteristics. In one captivating image, a male Ptarmigan stands proudly on a snowy ridge atop Cairngorm mountain. Its white winter plumage blends seamlessly with the surroundings, creating an ethereal sight.
