Lars Schwartz: A Sidecar Racing Legend For over three decades, it has been a prominent figure in the thrilling world of sidecar racing. Known for his exceptional skills and unwavering determination, Schwartz has left an indelible mark on the sport. His journey began in 1980 when he teamed up with Leif Gustavsson to compete in the Sidecar TT race aboard their LGMV Konig machine. The duo showcased their talent and secured a respectable position, setting the stage for future triumphs. Throughout the years, Schwartz formed formidable partnerships with various co-drivers, including Doug Jewell, Colin Hardman, Dicky Gale, and more. Together they tackled numerous challenges at prestigious events like the Sidecar TT races. In 1982, alongside Gustavsson once again but this time on a Konig bike, Schwartz demonstrated his prowess by achieving an impressive finish. This success was followed by several notable performances throughout the '80s and '90s as he continued to push boundaries. One of his most memorable victories came in 1994 when he joined forces with Jewell on an LGMV Yamaha machine. Their flawless teamwork propelled them to triumph at that year's Sidecar TT race – a moment etched forever in racing history. Schwartz's dedication never wavered as he consistently sought new challenges. In 2000, partnered with Hardman riding an LGMV Ireson Yamaha bike; they conquered yet another Sidecar TT event amidst fierce competition. The year 2005 witnessed another remarkable achievement for Schwartz as he collaborated with Gale on an Ireson Yamaha machine. Together they defied all odds and emerged victorious once again at the prestigious Sidecar TT race. Overcoming hurdles became second nature to this racing icon who also achieved commendable results alongside Jewell during other editions of the event such as those held in 1996 and 1995. Schwartz's passion for sidecar racing extended beyond personal victories.
