"Lea Francis: A Vintage Beauty on the Road" Step back in time to the year 1939, where a stunning Lea-Francis 5 Corsica body car was born, its creator unknown but its allure undeniable. This classic automobile became a symbol of elegance and sophistication. Traveling further back into history, we find ourselves at the junction of A40 and Aylesbury road in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire during the 1920s. Here stood another Lea-Francis, captivating passersby with its timeless charm. Fast forward to Dublin in 1930, as the Irish Grand Prix Saorstat Cup race commences at Phoenix Park. The talented artist Bill Brunell immortalizes this momentous event, capturing a Lea-Francis Hyper 2-seater competing fiercely amidst other racing legends. The JCC Half-Day Trial takes us to Hurtwood Hill in Surrey that same year. The adrenaline-filled atmosphere is palpable as a Lea-Francis Hyper fearlessly conquers every obstacle thrown its way. Brooklands Race Circuit becomes our next destination - first stopping by for the JCC 200 Mile Race in 1926. Bill Brunell's brush strokes bring this historic event to life, showcasing not only speed demons but also an array of beautiful cars including our beloved Lea-Francis. Cars from various eras grace Brooklands once again during the c1930s; their gleaming bodies reflecting sunlight as they zoom past cheering spectators. Bill Brunell captures these moments on canvas like no other artist could. At yet another BARC meeting held at Brooklands in 1930, we witness two remarkable vehicles taking center stage - an AS Llewellyn's Lea-Francis Hyper and Major A Gardner's Amilcar. These machines epitomize power and style as they compete against each other.
