Lymphoma: A Silent Enemy in the Body's Defense System 🤕 a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system, which is responsible for producing and circulating immune cells. Two major types include Hodgkin lymphoma (HL), characterized by the presence of Reed-Sternberg cells, and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), which is more diverse. Cardiac lymphoma, a rare subtype, can infiltrate the heart, causing symptoms like shortness of breath and chest pain. Diagnosis often involves MRI scans, which can detect tumors and help assess their size and location. Bleomycin, a potent antibiotic and chemotherapeutic agent, is used to treat various types of lymphoma. Its molecule, F005 / 6675, interacts with DNA, leading to cell death. Alemtuzumab, a monoclonal antibody, is used to treat certain types of NHL. Its Fab fragments, such as F007 / 0100, F007 / 0099, F007 / 0097, and F007 / 0098, target specific proteins on the surface of cancer cells, leading to their destruction. Spleen cancer, another rare form of lymphoma, can be detected through gross specimen examination, as seen in image C015 / 6421. Early detection and appropriate treatment, including chemotherapy and targeted therapies like those mentioned above, can significantly improve outcomes for patients.
