Mariska, the legendary racing cutter, graced the waters of the English Channel during the early 1900s. In the summer of 1911, Mariska participated in several regattas, including the Cowes to Weymouth Race, where she was captured on film running downwind alongside Ostara, Corona, and Octavia. The following year, Mariska continued to impress, racing against Hispania and Paula II at Cowes. With her sleek design and powerful sail plan, Mariska was a force to be reckoned with on the open sea. Kirk & Sons of Cowes beautifully documented her racing career, capturing her in action as she sailed close-hauled and ran downwind, leaving a legacy in the annals of sailing history.
