The MG TA Midget, a classic car that left an indelible mark on the racing world. In 1939, at the MG Car Club Abingdon Trial/Rally, HRG of MH Lawson and MG TA of Maurice Toulmin showcased their skills behind the wheel, pushing these magnificent machines to their limits. The event was a true spectacle of power and precision. Not far behind them were WS Whittard with his MG Magnette and Maurice Toulmin once again with his trusty MG TA. These fearless drivers fearlessly tackled every obstacle thrown in their path during the rally. Renowned artist Bill Brunell captured the essence of this thrilling event in his artwork featuring an MG TA competing in the Abingdon Trial/Rally. The painting perfectly encapsulates the excitement and adrenaline that coursed through each competitor's veins as they raced against time. But it wasn't just at Abingdon where these incredible cars made their mark. They also conquered challenges like no other in events such as MCC Edinburgh Trial, Roxburghshire, Scotland in 1938. JES Jones, H Stevens, RE Rushbrook, and JN Goodwin all piloted their powerful MG TAs through treacherous terrains with skillful finesse. Archie Langley from Musketeers team proudly drove his MG TA at South Wales Auto Club Welsh Rally while Cream Cracker Team showcased its prowess at Great West Motor Club Trial in 1938. Even on international grounds like RAC Rally held at Madeira Drive Brighton in 1939 saw FG Cornish commanding his mighty MG TA to victory amidst fierce competition. These iconic moments cemented the legacy of the remarkable MG TA Midget - a symbol of speed, endurance, and sheer determination. Its timeless design continues to captivate enthusiasts even today as a testament to its enduring charm on both road and track alike.
