"The North West Frontier: A Glimpse into History's Courageous Battles" Step back in time to the year 1897, when the brave soldiers of The Gordon Highlanders embarked on a daring mission at Dargai. Among them, Piper Findlater emerged as a true hero, earning the prestigious Victoria Cross for his exceptional bravery. This remarkable event, captured in 1939, stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit of these valiant warriors. Gazing through the lens of history, we catch a breathtaking view into Afghanistan from the legendary Khyber Pass, and is here that countless battles were fought and won by those who dared to defend their lands against all odds. One such battle was The Indian Frontier War of 1897, where The Gordon Highlanders stormed the treacherous Dargai Ridge with unmatched determination. In another striking image from 1906, we witness an alliance between the 1st Gordon Highlanders and Gurkhas as they fearlessly storm the heights of Dargai once more. Artists Vereker Monteith Hamilton and an unknown talent have immortalized this momentous occasion through their masterful brush strokes. Moving closer to Peshawar in present-day Pakistan's North West Frontier Province, we encounter children peering out of windows with curiosity and innocence amidst turbulent times. Their innocent gazes remind us that even amid conflict and strife, hope still resides within our youngest generation. Transporting ourselves further back in time to circa 1900-30s through sepia-toned photographs reveals a mesmerizing vista along the historic Khyber Pass - a gateway connecting cultures and civilizations throughout centuries past. Lord Roberts leads his troops on an arduous march towards Kandahar in 1880 during one chapter of this region's rich tapestry. Heroes like him etched their names into history books while shaping destinies on these very lands.
