"Journey through Time: Exploring London's Omnibuses" Step into the past and embark on a captivating journey through the bustling streets of London, where omnibuses once reigned supreme. From the iconic view of St Paul's Cathedral, gazing majestically from Fleet Street, to the nostalgic Victoria Station in the 1920s captured in a timeless black and white photograph. Transported back further still, we witness horse-drawn omnibuses gracefully traversing Tottenham Court Road, their rhythmic hooves echoing through history. And then there was Pullman Luxury Motor Bus of 1908, a symbol of opulence and comfort that revolutionized travel for its time. As we venture southwards towards Westminster, Waterloo, and Blackfriars Bridge, an enchanting scene unfolds before our eyes - Walworth Road meets New Cross Road at this very spot. A grand station with a cupola stands proudly as part of the South London Electric Railway network in 1897. Moving onwards to Piccadilly Circus - known as "The Hub of the Universe" or "The Centre of the World" during different eras - we find ourselves amidst vibrant lights and buzzing energy. The Royal Exchange looms elegantly nearby; its architectural beauty encapsulated in a mesmerizing black-and-white photo from around 1900. Continuing along The Strand circa 1910 brings us closer to history unfolding before our eyes.
