Traveling further back to the late 1800s, we find ourselves at an unidentified mine in Cornwall. Two young miners take a well-deserved break during croust time, indulging in hearty pasties packed with sustenance for their demanding work underground. The year is now 1892 at East Pool Mine, Illogan, Cornwall. A group of exhausted Cornish miners finds solace at rest on the 310 level. Their trusty pasties provide them with nourishment and comfort amidst their grueling labor deep within the earth. Margaret Thatcher herself visits Marazion Community Centre, savoring a traditional Cornish pasty during her visit. Even political leaders appreciate this humble yet delicious treat that has become synonymous with Cornwall's culinary identity.
