It all began in 1972 when Phil Haslam, known affectionately as "Pharaoh Yamaha, " made his debut at the Junior Manx Grand Prix. The young prodigy showcased his immense talent, leaving spectators awestruck by his speed and precision on the track. His victory that year marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. The following year, Phil returned to defend his title at the Junior Manx Grand Prix. Once again, he dominated the competition with unrivaled skill and determination. It was clear that a legend was in the making. Phil Haslam's name became synonymous with excellence in motorcycle racing. He earned himself a place among Manx legends for his unmatched performances on behalf of Pharaoh Yamaha. But he wasn't alone in this pursuit of greatness. Ron Haslam emerged as another force to be reckoned with under the banner of Pharaoh Yamaha. In 1979, he took part in both Classic TT races and proved himself worthy by clinching victories in both events – an extraordinary feat that solidified Ron's status as one of racing's brightest stars. Not content with their past achievements, Pharaoh Yamaha continued to nurture new talents within their ranks. Eric Sunderland stepped into the limelight during the 1981 Junior Manx Grand Prix, showcasing incredible potential that would later propel him to further success. The early years were indeed filled with rocket-like acceleration for Rocket Ron Haslam who displayed exceptional skills during various competitions including winning titles like Junior TT practice sessions (1978) and Senior TT practice sessions (1979).
