Ralf Engelhardt: A Sidecar Racing Legend For over five decades, it has left an indelible mark on the world of sidecar racing. From his early collaborations with Klaus Enders to his recent partnerships with Winfried Viecenz, Engelhardt's talent and passion have propelled him to numerous victories and accolades. In 1967, Engelhardt teamed up with Enders under the BMW banner for the Sidecar TT race. Their synergy was undeniable as they blazed through the track, showcasing their exceptional skills and clinching a memorable win. This triumph marked the beginning of a remarkable partnership that would span several years. The following year, in 1968, Engelhardt returned to the Sidecar TT race alongside Enders once again. The dynamic duo displayed unwavering determination and skill as they navigated treacherous corners and pushed their BMW machine to its limits. Engelhardt's prowess behind the handlebars continued to shine in subsequent years. In 1972 and 1973, he joined forces with Enders for two more exhilarating races at the 500 Sidecar TT event. Their synchronized maneuvers were a sight to behold as they weaved through tight bends and accelerated down straightaways. Fast forward to more recent times - in 2007, Engelhardt partnered with Viecenz under Busch BMW for the Pre TT Classic race. Together, they showcased their enduring love for sidecar racing while paying homage to past legends who paved their way. Engelhardt's dedication remained unwavering throughout his career as evidenced by his participation in multiple Pre TT Classic events alongside Viecenz in subsequent years such as 2009 and 2010. These races served as reminders of his enduring passion for this adrenaline-fueled sport. Whether it was conquering Quarter Bridge or tackling challenging courses like never before, Ralf Engelhardt always brought his A-game when it mattered most.
