Ralph Sutcliffe: A Legend on Two Wheels From the moment he first revved his engine, Ralph Sutcliffe proved himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of motorcycle racing. Born with a need for speed and an unwavering passion for the sport, Sutcliffe quickly made a name for himself as one of the most talented riders of his generation. In 1987, alongside his teammate Mark Farmer, Sutcliffe showcased his skills at the Junior TT race riding for Yamaha. The duo's performance was nothing short of spectacular, leaving spectators in awe of their precision and determination. But it wasn't just team races where Sutcliffe excelled; he also dominated individual competitions. He participated in the Celtic Match Race Manx Team event and left competitors trailing behind him. Later that same year, astride a Kelly Yamaha bike, he conquered the Formula 2 TT race with unmatched skill and finesse. Sutcliffe's success didn't stop there. In 1989, riding a powerful Suzuki machine, he triumphed at the prestigious Senior TT event – solidifying his status as one of racing's greats. Throughout his career, Sutcliffe continued to push boundaries and break records. His victories included winning the Lightweight Manx Grand Prix aboard Cowles Armstrong machinery in 1986 and securing top spots at various other races such as Jurby Airfield (Yamaha) in 1982 and Production TT events (Suzuki) in both 1984 and 1994. The Kawasaki years were equally fruitful for Sutcliffe; he claimed victory at both Senior TT races in 1992 and Formula One TT events in both '93 seasons – proving that no matter what brand adorned his bike or which class he competed in - Ralph always had what it took to come out on top. With each twist of the throttle came another chapter in Sutcliffe's incredible story.
