Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin: A legendary race track in the heart of America. The scene of thrilling battles between top drivers in the American Le Mans Series and Champ Car World Series. On August 18, 2002, the Toyota Atlantic Championship took center stage. The field prepared for the green flag, with Factory Butte, the isolated flat-topped sandstone mountain in Utah desert, serving as a stark contrast to the action-packed race ahead. At the start, it was Dorricott Racing's Jon Fogarty leading the charge, but it was Luis Diaz who emerged as the race winner, celebrating on the podium with a 1-2-3 finish for Dorricott Racing. Alex Gurney finished third, while Fogarty took second and Michael Valiante finished fourth for Lynx Racing. The race was filled with intense competition, with the lead changing hands multiple times. Despite Fogarty's strong start, he ultimately finished second, adding to the excitement of the day.
