The grand event brought together remarkable individuals and unforgettable moments. The presence of the Barry Lifeboat crew and esteemed guests at the new Jackson Bay station added an air of excitement to this historic occasion. Among them were heroes like Hugh Davies, whose bravery on January 19th, 1998 saved lives alongside Kevin Gardener and Steven Buck who were rescued from a cabin cruiser by the RNLI. Ted Powell, a dedicated member of the Barry lifeboat team since March 1st, 1999, showcased his unwavering commitment to maritime safety. His passion echoed through every wave as he stood tall among his fellow crew members. The unveiling of Penarth lifeboat Spirit of Penarth marked yet another milestone in ship shipping history.
