Stuart Applegate: A Sidecar Racing Legend From the thrilling races at the Isle of Man TT to his numerous victories alongside esteemed partners, Stuart Applegate's name has become synonymous with sidecar racing excellence. With a career spanning several decades, he has left an indelible mark on the sport. In 1966, Stuart Applegate teamed up with P J Kaufman and rode a BSA to compete in the Sidecar TT. This marked the beginning of his illustrious journey in sidecar racing. Over the years, he formed formidable partnerships with some of the most talented riders in the industry. One such partnership was forged in 1977 when Stuart joined forces with Ron Hardy and Suzuki for another exhilarating ride at the Sidecar TT. Their synchronized maneuvers and unwavering determination earned them well-deserved recognition among their peers. The year 1988 saw Stuart teaming up with Rod Appleton and Yamaha for yet another remarkable performance at the Sidecar TT. Together, they showcased their exceptional skills and pushed boundaries to secure victory amidst fierce competition. Throughout his career, Stuart Applegate continued to demonstrate his versatility by riding different motorcycles. In 1969, he fearlessly took on challenges aboard a BMW alongside Rod Appleton during the 500 Sidecar TT race. The following year, partnering with Ms Worsley on a Honda bike added further accolades to his already impressive resume. In 1983, Andrew Gibson became Stuart's partner as they raced under Mitchell Yamaha's banner during that year's Sidecar TT event. Their synergy on track propelled them towards success while leaving spectators awestruck by their speed and precision. Notably, it was not just vintage bikes that witnessed Stuart's mastery; even modern machines couldn't escape his skillful touch. In recent times, he participated in events like Windle Imp Pre-TT Classic riding alongside various partners including (Windle Imp) in 2014.
