The Taisho Period, spanning from 1912 to 1926, was a time of great change and turmoil in Japan. It was characterized by a mix of traditional values and modernization efforts, as seen in the vibrant woodblock prints depicting various actors and scenes from that era. In one print, we see Actor Nakamura Ganjirac I portraying Akaneya Hanshichi with striking intensity.
