The Tegu: A Fascinating Reptile from London Zoo to Iguazu Falls In August 1926, visitors at the London Zoo were captivated by the sight of a Common, Gold, Golden, Black, and Columbian Tegu. This Tiger Lizard mesmerized onlookers with its vibrant colors and sleek appearance (DDE-90237296). Meanwhile, in Japan's Mount Akiba manifested Akiba Gongen - a wooden sculpture adorned with polychrome & gold. Little did people know that this representation held a connection to the majestic Tegu (DDE-90237295). Venturing into the wild jungles brought encounters with other reptiles like the Jungle runner and golden tegu. These creatures showcased their agility as they navigated through dense foliage (DDE-90237294). Amongst them lurked dangerous species such as the Saw-scaled viper and Madagascar leafnose snake. The Tegu's survival instincts allowed it to coexist alongside these venomous predators (Ameiva ameiva) (Tupinambis teguixin) (Jungle-runner) (Saw-scaled viper) (Madagascar leafnose snake). Distinctive in appearance was the Black and white tegu known as Tupinambis merianae. Its contrasting coloration made it stand out amidst its surroundings while still blending seamlessly into nature's tapestry. Another variation of this remarkable creature was the Gold tegu named Tupinambis teguixin. With its shimmering scales reflecting sunlight like precious metal, it truly lived up to its name. Witnessing an encounter between a Jungle-runner Ameiva ameiva and a Tupinambis teguixin provided observers with insight into their unique relationship within their shared habitat. Traveling further afar led us to witness an Argentine Black and White Tegu at Iguazu Falls in Brazil/Argentina.
