Tim Birkin was a legendary racing driver known for his incredible skills behind the wheel. In 1930, he took to the track at a BARC meeting in Brooklands, piloting his Bentley with precision and determination. The crowd watched in awe as Birkin's single-seater Bentley soared past his competitors, ultimately securing him victory in the race. Two years later, at the RAC TT Race on the Ards Circuit in Belfast, Birkin showcased his talent once again. Edgar Maclures Riley led the pack, but it was only a matter of time before Tim Birkin's Alfa Romeo caught up. With lightning speed and unmatched agility, he maneuvered through tight corners and straightaways to close in on Maclures Riley. The Boulogne Motor Week in France witnessed another breathtaking performance by Tim Birkin in 1928. Behind the wheel of his powerful Bentley, he fearlessly competed against some of the best drivers of that era. His skillful driving left spectators mesmerized as they marveled at his control over such an impressive machine. Not only did Tim Birkin excel individually on the racetrack but also alongside Sir Henry Birkin - a formidable duo that dominated races together. At a BARC meeting held at Brooklands, Sir Henry raced against RJ Mundays Vauxhall 30/98 while leading Earl Howe's Bugatti Type 54 with sheer finesse and expertise. In honor of Sir Henry Birkin's contributions to motorsport history, a memorial panel was erected at Brooklands in 1937 by artist Gordon Crosby. This tribute served as a reminder of their unforgettable moments on this iconic circuit where they pushed boundaries and achieved greatness. The JCC Double Twelve Race held at Brooklands Surrey saw yet another display of Tim Birkins' remarkable talent behind the wheel. Racing against fierce competition from all corners, he navigated every twist and turn flawlessly - leaving no doubt about his status as one of the greatest drivers of his time.
