In the vast land of Brobdingnag, Gulliver found himself tormented by his minuscule stature amidst towering giants. His once adventurous spirit now drowned in a sea of helplessness. Faust, plagued by doubts and uncertainties, was tormented by the relentless pursuit of knowledge that consumed his very soul. In Goethe's masterpiece, he grappled with the consequences of his pact with Mephistopheles. VIANNEY, a tortured artist whose melodies echoed with melancholy and longing, poured out his tormented heart through haunting lyrics that resonated deep within our souls. As I gazed upon the ancient Crucifix in Elmelunde Church, Denmark, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the torment etched on Christ's face. The weight of humanity's sins bore heavily upon him as he sacrificed himself for our redemption. Kenny Meadows' illustration to Shakespeare's Cymbeline depicted Posthumus tormented by Iachimo's deceitful evidence of infidelity. A tempestuous storm raged within him as doubt gnawed at his core. Hamlet stood frozen in time on canvas, haunted by the ghostly apparition before him. Torment gripped his every thought as he wrestled with revenge and madness in Shakespeare's timeless tragedy. Aeneas descended into the depths of Hades alongside the Sibyl. Tormented souls surrounded them as they navigated through their eternal suffering—a chilling reminder of mortality's inevitable grasp. The engraving depicting Christ crowned by thorns showcased both physical and emotional torment endured during His crucifixion. Bloodied and broken yet resolute in His purpose—His sacrifice became an emblematic symbol for human suffering. St Edmund sought solace while studying at Paris but instead found himself tormented by a captivating young woman who tested his devotion to God. Temptation waged war against faith within him—an internal struggle immortalized in an engraving.
