The majestic white-tailed deer, with its stunning white color phase, is a rare sight to behold in the wild. Found in New York, this doe and fawn exhibit a unique genetic trait resulting from double recessive white genes. While these individuals occur naturally, their unusually high proportion is truly remarkable. In Texas during springtime, a magnificent white-tailed buck shares the forest with wild turkeys. With its tail held high, it signals to other deer that an intruder lurks nearby in the woods of the Rocky Mountains in Montana, USA. Venturing further east to New York again, we encounter an albino white-tailed doe. These beautiful creatures can be found across much of the United States as well as southern Canada and Mexico. They have also been introduced to various parts of the world and thrive in forests, swamps, and open brushy areas where they browse on twigs, shrubs, fungi, and acorns. Moving southward to South Africa's Mountain Zebra National Park in Eastern Cape reveals another fascinating species - the black wildebeest or white-tailed gnu. Once pushed close to extinction but now widely reintroduced thanks to conservation efforts. This mature bull stands proud amidst his native habitat. Back across continents to Choke Canyon State Park in Texas where a vigilant white-tailed deer remains alert for potential predators lurking nearby. In Minnesota's serene landscapes lies another enchanting scene - a delicate fawn gracefully navigating through its surroundings alongside its fellow companions. During winter storms in Upstate New York emerges yet another breathtaking sight - a doe and her fawn trekking through deep snow after nature's fury has subsided. These resilient creatures are not only found throughout North America but have also been introduced elsewhere around the globe; adapting well within forests and swamps alike. Nature never ceases to amaze us as evidenced by an adorable fawn nestled amongst vibrant orange paintbrush wildflowers and grass.
