Anthony Trollope, writer, 1878. Trollope was one of the greatest Victorian novelists. He gained his reputation through a series of novels set in the fictional county of Barsetshire. These books include, The Warden, (1855), Barchester Towers, (1857) and The Last Chronicle of Barset, (1867). A second series of novels, set against a political background, includes Phineas Finn, (1869) and The Eustace Diamonds, (1873).
