RQ-7A Shadow 200, 2003. Creator: aI Corporation
Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. The RQ-7A provides ground commanders the ability to " see first, understand first, and act first-decisively." The twin-boom pusher aircraft performs day or night reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, and bomb damage assessment. It has nonretractable landing gear for conventional takeoff and landing, but it can also be launched by catapult and use a tail hook and arresting cables for a shorter landing. A Shadow 200 system consists of four RQ-7As and two ground control stations, which transmit tactical reconnaissance imagery and telemetry data in near real time directly to combat command centers. The RQ-7A entered service with the U.S. Army in 2002 and flew its first mission over Baghdad in April 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Screamin Demon flew with the U.S. Armys 4th Infantry Division and the 82nd Airborne Division. Its last combat flight in Iraq took place in 2005. It flew 124 missions totaling nearly 500 flight hours

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the remarkable RQ-7A Shadow 200, a Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) created by the innovative minds at aI Corporation. Designed to provide ground commanders with an unparalleled advantage, this twin-boom pusher aircraft is equipped to "see first, understand first, and act first-decisively". The RQ-7A Shadow 200 excels in various critical operations such as day or night reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, and bomb damage assessment. Its nonretractable landing gear allows for conventional takeoff and landing; however, it also possesses the capability to be catapult-launched and utilize tail hooks and arresting cables for shorter landings. An entire Shadow 200 system comprises four of these exceptional UAVs along with two ground control stations. This comprehensive setup enables the transmission of tactical reconnaissance imagery and telemetry data in near real-time directly to combat command centers. Having entered service with the U. S. Army in 2002, this extraordinary aircraft flew its inaugural mission over Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom in April 2003. Known as Screamin Demon during its time with the U. S. Army's esteemed 4th Infantry Division and the legendary 82nd Airborne Division, it completed an impressive total of 124 missions amounting to nearly 500 flight hours. This awe-inspiring photograph captures not only the technological prowess of AAI Corporation but also pays homage to the invaluable contributions made by this exceptional UAV during its active duty years serving our nation's armed forces.
