The shops were extensively redeveloped at great expense during 2008 and a bar was opened in 2009. After attempts were made to convert the bar to a pole-dancing club, its licence was revoked and the bar subsequently closed

In later years, a domestic appliance repair shop took over the site until its closure in the late 1990s.
