In this striking photograph, taken by renowned photography studio Harris & Ewing in the 1910s, we find two prominent American political figures of the era: Thomas Watt Gregory and Albert Sidney Burleson. The image captures the duo in formal attire, standing side by side, exuding an air of authority and confidence. Thomas Watt Gregory, dressed in a dark suit and wearing a bowler hat, served as the Attorney General of the United States from 1914 to 1919. His distinguished career in law began in 1884 when he was admitted to the South Carolina Bar. Prior to his appointment as Attorney General, Gregory held various positions within the legal field, including serving as the Solicitor for the First Judicial Circuit of South Carolina. Albert Sidney Burleson, on the other hand, is seen wearing a Panama hat and a light-colored suit. He was a Representative from Texas from 1899 to 1913 and later served as the Postmaster General from 1913 to 1921. Burleson's political tenure began in 1898 when he was elected to the Texas House of Representatives. His impressive career in public service also included a term as the Speaker of the Texas House and a stint as the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
