In this photo print, we witness the resolute gaze of a war hero during the 2nd Boer War. As the defender of Mafeking under siege by the Boers from October 14th, 1899 until its relief on May 19th, 1900 by Field Marshal Roberts, Baden-Powell earned fame and admiration. This image captures not only a moment in history but also reveals the essence of British colonialism and military prowess.
