OSBORNE HOUSE, Isle of Wight. The Ryde Album. Queen Victoria died at Osborne House on 22nd January 1901 aged 81. Her cortege left Osborne on 1st February and a procession of ships including the Royal Yachts brought her across the Solent to Portsmouth. The route was lined with warships of the Royal Navy and vessels of other nations all firing salutes
