Marches Macerata Mevale Pieve Italy italian country

Marches Macerata Mevale Pieve, this is my Italy, the italian country of visual history, Parish church dating from the 13th century with interior decoration dating until the 16th century. Mevale is the home of the Angelucci family, who were artists and woodworkers in the 15th and 16th centuries. The interior frescoes include a Last Judgment 1601, a Trinity 1560, Apostles in the Oratorium, a Madonna of the Rosary 1571, and a chivalric tournament 15th cent. A Pieta in the lunette in the Oratorium is believed to have been painted by Perugino, in whose workshop one of the Angelucci worked. There is also a Madonna in the Byzantine style, dating from the 13th century. The confessional is used as well for a chancel, the work of Ancanio Poggini 1580

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the enchanting beauty of Marches Macerata Mevale Pieve in Italy, a country steeped in rich visual history. The Parish church, dating back to the 13th century, stands as a testament to the architectural marvels of that era. Its interior decoration, spanning until the 16th century, is a treasure trove of artistic brilliance. Mevale holds special significance for the Angelucci family, renowned artists and woodworkers during the 15th and 16th centuries. The church's frescoes are adorned with masterpieces like the Last Judgment from 1601 and Trinity from 1560. Apostles grace the walls of Oratorium while a Madonna of the Rosary from 1571 adds divine elegance. A chivalric tournament scene from the 15th century captivates viewers with its medieval charm. Notably, there is speculation that Perugino himself painted a Pieta in one of Mevale's lunettes—an intriguing connection to this famed artist's workshop where an Angelucci once worked. Adding further allure is a Byzantine-style Madonna dating back to the 13th century. The confessional doubles as a chancel and bears testimony to Ancanio Poggini's craftsmanship in creating this exquisite piece in 1580. Through this remarkable image capture by Liszt Collection, we are transported into an Italian countryside brimming with historical significance—a true visual feast for art enthusiasts and history lovers alike.
