Biblical Deluge Flood Genesis Leave Leaving Rainbow Animlas Receded
EDITORS COMMENTS
This 18th century illustration depicts the momentous occasion of the animals leaving Noah's Ark as the floodwaters receded. According to the biblical story found in the Book of Genesis, God sent a great flood to cleanse the earth of its wicked inhabitants. Noah, a righteous man, was chosen by God to build an ark and save his family and a pair of every kind of animal. For forty days and forty nights, it rained, and the waters rose, covering the earth. The ark floated safely above the deluge, providing refuge for Noah, his family, and the creatures aboard. As the waters began to recede, God made a covenant with Noah and placed a rainbow in the sky as a symbol of His promise never again to destroy the earth with a flood. In this illustration, we see the animals, two by two, disembarking the ark and stepping onto the dry land. The vibrant colors and intricate details bring the scene to life, transporting us back to that pivotal moment in history. The rainbow, arching gracefully across the sky, serves as a reminder of God's faithfulness and His commitment to preserving the earth and its inhabitants.
