Arbuthnot Trophy - British Navy interfleet crosscountry Race
Start of the Marathon race for the Arbuthnot Trophy - a British Navy interfleet crosscountry running race - named after Rear-Admiral Sir Robert Keith Arbuthnot, 4th Baronet ) - a British Royal Navy officer during World War I who met his death at the Battle of Jutland. There were 400 participants in this race, held in the Dardanelles. The Trophy was won by the crew of the Iron-Duke Class battleship, The Iron Duke. Date: 1923
