Celebrating the Arrival of Princess Margaret Rose: A Tribute to the Duchess and Duke of York's Second Child August 1930 was a month of great joy and excitement in the British monarchy as the Duchess of York, later known as the Queen Mother, gave birth to a healthy baby girl on the 21st. Princess Margaret Rose was the second child of the Duke and Duchess, following the birth of their eldest daughter, Princess Elizabeth, in 1926.
