Forster, who was the son of the expedition's official naturalist Johann Christian Friedrich Höhne, accompanied his father on the voyage and made extensive observations and collections of various species during the journey. The Clinus superciliosus is a perciform fish, characterized by its distinctive pattern of dark spots and bars on its body. These fish are found in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and are known to inhabit rocky shores and tide pools. They are named for their supercilium, or eyebrow-like marking above their eyes.
