Lady Curzon and Princess Helena Victoria of Schlewig-Holstein - just two of the numerous workers in the YMCA work-rooms at Hertford Street seen at their sewing machines making under-garments for soldiers during the First World War. Lady Curzon was Mrs Alfred Duggan, born Grace Elvina Hinds (1879-1958), daughter of Mr. Monroe Hinds, and the second wife of George Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Baron Curzon of Kedleston. Princess Helena Victoria was the elder daughter of Princess Helena (Christian) and therefore a grand-daughter of Queen Victoria.
