Born in 1906, Henry Pu-Yi ascended to the throne at the tender age of three, following the abdication of the Guangxu Emperor in 1908. His reign was short-lived, however, as the last imperial dynasty, the Qing, was overthrown in 1912, marking the end of the imperial era in China.
